.: About the Research Project
For nine years, the OKC-PRG has conducted long-term paranormal research at the Abandoned Hospital in Oklahoma. The PPRG works symbiotically beside the on-site team to inform the research. If you visit chat or read posts on the message board, you may find references to "The Lady." That is the fond name for the building itself as it is deeply beloved and respected by all of us.
The hospital is a dedicated long-term paranormal research site and the research team does not admit visitors or guest groups. The location of the site is not shared to protect the site and the research; tours are not given, held, or offered; admission is not sold.
Neither the OKC-PRG nor the PPRG accepts any donations nor does either profit from the cams, audio, website or site. We respectfully believe that to accept money from the public for paranormal research would be to undermine the integrity of the research project itself. Instead, the research is privately funded and the research group is privately owned. The site is private property and all equipment and peripherals are privately owned. What is shared here in the way of live cams and audio is for your enjoyment and to provide an opportunity for people who cannot participate in paranormal research to do so by watching, listening, submitting, and discussing.
Further, many people ask if we do media -- television, radio, newspaper -- appearances or social networking -- myspace, youtube, facebook, twitter -- or any other permutation of those. We have a "no media" policy in place that remains in place to this date.
The on-site team does enter the building upon occasion during the week for maintenance, but every Saturday night, they conduct research sessions and interact with our friends on the other side who come or reside there. The time is approximately 11:00 CST or 23:00:00 cam time.
Over the last few years, the research project has evolved into a joint project by the OKC-PRG and the PPRG. OKC-PRG Research Team Members facilitate on-site weekly trial periods while the PPRG gathers, documents, archives, analyzes, and reports the data to inform the next trial period and more importantly, evaluate the long-term efficacy and success in determining intelligent response from the other side. Data from these research sessions is not released to the public because the research is ongoing, but you can listen and follow the progress each week as well as peruse many watcher-submitted caps and listener-submitted audio files and read and participate in the discussions on the message board and also in chat.
What both teams are doing here is documenting and researching anomalies -- kinetic, visual, and auditory -- and trying to explain what can be explained by natural causes. The rest is considered "unexplained." The research and the site are not about chills, thrills, and spills but rather about research. Research is, as has often been said, comparable to watching grass grow or paint dry, and 99% of what is gathered is explainable. It is the other 1% that is not normal or explainable that continues to fuel this project both in on-site weekly trial periods and in the growing larger project.
You can participate by listening and watching and submitting what you hear or see by posting on the message board. Help threads are posted on the forums to assist you. Moderators in chat and on the message board are there specifically to answer your questions and facilitate your participation at any level you are comfortable. You will find that any anomaly goes through a stringent process of searching for a natural or explainable cause, a process to try to compare it historically to other visual and audio samples and anomalies and then to watch or listen for a re-creation of the event -- and if it is truly unexplainable, a process on the team's part to try to re-create it on site.
Many participants on our message board and in chat have followed this research for years and are quite knowledgeable about OKC-PRG research protocol, criteria for evaluation, and what is normal and what is not normal there on-site. They are eager and happy to answer your questions and talk about the paranormal with you. Many have experiences in the paranormal field themselves, have the same questions you have, and have personal anecdotes to share.
Welcome. Welcome to the OKC-PRG. Welcome to the PPRG. And Welcome to The Lady.
